Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is an American and Canadian holiday.

In Canada it is celebrated on the second Monday of October and in the USA it is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. It is a big family celebration and a Christian festival.
Many non-christian people also enjoy this holiday. People get busy visiting families, they travel from all over the country, so the airports and roads get somewhat crowded. Many big cities have parades and other holiday activities.

Christian families gather together and befor the festive dinner they say the special prayers. The traditional Thanksgiving food includes roasted turkey, cranberry sause, sweetcorn, sweet potatoes and a pumpkin pie for the dessert.
